Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:31

When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord your God has not permitted you to do so.

The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah so they entered the king's service. In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters (KJV astrologers) in his whole kingdom. Daniel 1:20

Daniel replied, " No wise man, enchanter (KJV astrologer), magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries . . . 2:27-28

When the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners came, I [Nebuchadnezzar] told them the dream, but they could not interpret it for me. Daniel 4:7 5:7-8

I hate, I despise your religious feasts I cannot stand your assemblies. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings (peace offerings), I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream! Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the desert, O house of Israel? You have lifted up the shrine of your king, the pedestal of your idols, the star of your god (Septuagint: your star-gods lifted up the shrine of Moloch and the star of your god Raphan.) which you made for yourselves. Therefore I will send you into exile beyond Damascus, says the Lord, whose name is God Almighty. Amos 5:21-27
