On April 7, 2006, Jim Quinn (with sidekick "radio Rose") on Quinn in the Morning, played a cut from a whacked out liberal who advocated disbanding the US military.

Quinn got to thinking about that, put pen to paper and came up with the following things that he thinks would take place if we announced that we were disbanding our military.  He didn't number them like I did, he just read them, line-by-line.

If you've never listened to Quinn in the Morning, I urge you to do so.  He's incredibly informative and immensely entertaining.

What Would Likely Happen in the World Tomorrow
Without the US Military

1. China would immediately invade Taiwan and drive all US presence from the Pacific with their new blue water navy.  The stock market drops from 11,000 to 8,500.
2. North Korea invades South Korea.  Why?  Because they can!
   The new united Korea attacks Japan.
3. The new Iraqi government flees for political assylum and remnants of the Baathist Party spring Saddam from prison.  He declares victory and again declares himself president of Iraq.
4. Iran starts to make plans to invade Iraq before Iraq can get too strong.  Iran continues development of nuclear weapons and, with North Korea and Russia, sets up Chavez's nuclear program in Venezuela.
5. Venezuela nationalizes all foreign oil companies and their assets and cuts off oil to the US.
6. Castro negotiates a treaty with Iran and agrees to buy nuclear weapons.
7. Mexican military elements secure the Texas border against US border agents and proceed to lead waves of migrants into the US unchallenged.  Mexico threatens to cut off oil to the US.
8. al-Qu’eda steps up operations worldwide with bombings and hijacking of airlines and cruise ships.  Why?  Because they can!
9. Agents of Hamas and al-Qu’eda assassinate Pakistani president Musharraf and the ISI (Pakistani Intelligence) takes over.  Pakistani nuclear weapons are now in the possession of radical Islamists.
10. India moves troops to the Pakistani border.
11. Pakistan moves troops to the Indian border.
12. Muslim mobs all over Europe attack government buildings, TV and radio stations, as well as newspaper offices, churches and libraries, burning and murdering with impunity,
13. In the Sudan, they step up the Darfour genocide.
14. Murdering Muslim mobs run wild through the Philippines and Indonesia.
15. Sea piracy becomes epidemic, halting shipping.  Stock market drops to 7,500.
16. Columbia and Bolivia announce record shipments of cocaine to the US and Europe.  Stock market rallies to 8,000. <Rimshot>
17. With the US out of the picture, Russia and the Chinese now begin to eye each other with suspicion. Cooperative agreements break down.  Russia moves troops to the Chinese border.  China moves troops to the Russian border.
18. The Chinese close the Panama Canal to United States' shipping.
19. Syria moves back into Lebanon, takes possession of Saddam's WMD before Saddam is strong enough to be able to demand them back himself.
20. Syria then launches a chemical weapons attack on Jordan, a repeat of the one tried 2 years ago.  80,000 are killed.
21. Militant Islamists then overthrow the government of Egypt and Turkey, and Turkey declares war on the Kurds.
22. al-Qu’eda begins the systematic murders of the Saudi Royal Family and plans to cut off all oil shipments to the US.
23. Iran nukes Israel.
24. Israel, in turn, nukes Iran.
25. Pakistani jihadis launch nukes in response on Europe and India.
26. And, finally, France surrenders.

Yeah, we don't need the US military. The world would be a lot safer without 'em!  <to commercials>
