- HOW do I buy this book online?
It's out-of-print in this version. It's still available in the larger, combined version. Call us.
If you can only afford two books, if you only have room for two books in your emergency pack, get a good cookbook on cooking storable foods and this one by Robert Pelton.
At first glance, the price seems high for a book measuring 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 6/10" . But its 230 pages are JAM PACKED full of information on survival & evasion tips, eating off the land, hygiene, medical, orientation, etc. There's no fluff in it! Best of all, the type is large enough so an old fogie like me can read it! It's loaded with drawings and line art to illustrate techniques, traps, snares, hooks, edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms. (I know, as long as the Kroger store is still open, who'd consider a hearty meal of bracken fern and kelp, a side order of gilled fungi with nutgrass tubers for dessert? Yeah, it makes my mouth water, too! BUT IT'S ALL IN THERE, and that's not even scratching the surface of the edible foods information.)
This is a MUST HAVE book for anyone who wants to survive in the outdoors. I strongly urge you to order 2 copies. One for your vehicle's glove compartment and one for your evac kit.
